Leases & signing

Templates, merge fields, sending for signature, revisions, and final documents.

Send a lease for signing

From a template to a signed PDF, without printing anything.

  1. 1 Open Leases and choose New lease.
  2. 2 Pick the property, room, and tenant, then the template for your state.
  3. 3 Check the terms — dates, rent, bond, and any special conditions.
  4. 4 Send it. Each signer receives their own private signing link by email.

You can follow progress on the lease itself: who has opened their link, who has signed, and who is still outstanding. Reminders can be resent to a single party without disturbing anyone who has already signed.

Changing a lease after it has been sent

What a revision does to signatures already collected.

A signature attests to the exact terms the signer was shown, so terms and signatures can never move independently. When you revise a lease that has already gone out, Girilang keeps a permanent snapshot of the previous version, marks any signatures already collected as superseded, and issues fresh signing links to every party.

Everyone who had already signed will be asked to sign again. If the change is trivial, it is worth deciding whether it can wait until renewal.

Templates and merge fields

Reusing your own wording across every agreement.

Templates hold the wording you use every time. Merge fields — the tenant’s name, the room, the rent, the start date — are filled from the tenancy when the lease is created, so a template is written once and stays correct.

Girilang ships templates aligned to NSW and VIC residential and boarding house arrangements. You can copy one and adapt it rather than starting from a blank page.

Templates are a drafting aid, not legal advice. Have your own agreements reviewed if your arrangement is unusual.
